Comment: My wife and I saw your show for Valentine's Day last year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We truly enjoyed the show for its pure energy, as well as for its political statement. While in college, I worked with friends to inform others of the evils of South Africa's Apartheid regime. We boycotted companies and built shantytowns in the center of campus. The president of the university eventually resigned partially due to pressure placed on him concerning the university's investment in South Africa. Now as a social studies teacher in Miami, I'm able to share the story of South Africa with my students. My wife and I recently saw the PBS presentation of the London show, and truly enjoyed it. Comment: While surfing the television on a Sunday evening two years ago I came across your show on PBS. My family and I were captured by the presentation and thought they would re-air it during Black History Month. Not giving up, we check the program listing

My introduction to Gumboots was seeing them on TV! I live near Toronto, Canada (we moved from UK 2 years ago) - and I watched the show by chance on TV.
I am hooked. I have been checking regularly since then to find out when they have shows in Canada, or I will travel to UK or USA to see them! I have told all my friends and family about the wonderful energy and movement and songs - I will be booking tickets for everyone when I know when they will be.
Are there any more dates up yet after the S Africa, Korea and Germany dates.
I don't know if I can wait another year to get some tickets!

Comment: You guys are absolutely divine and enchanting! I was flipping through channels on my television last night and came across a broadcast of your show on public television. I didn't even get through the show before I was ordering the CD online and trying to translate some of the words!
Your message came to me in a time of spiritual need. Understanding what the songs meant brought a little focus and humour into my evening. I am a 26 year old female architect in New York City...shortly after moving here to begin my life, I realized how easy it is to fall into the white-collar rut and forget yourself. I quickly followed a dream from my childhood days to understand various dialects of African language, theory and music as a means of therapy/ an outlet from the every day monotony. I was more so into the Afro-Cuban style, the Bata, but remained interested in all roots african music & dance. I purchased a tongue drum, a bongo & 2 congas and began to play while incorporating dance as a sort of expressionism of how the music made me feel. I haven't been the same since! In this city, we are sort of "trained" to lack expressionism and this has helped me maintain my identity and self-spiritualization. I thank you for showing the public how important it is to do !

I'd like to let you know I loved your show! I watched your wonderful performance on Slovenian TV-2 today and felt I had to write to you straight away. What incredible kind of energy, rythm and soul it conveyed......and a big political idea of how to be free. Your confident show was filled with special kind of energy and does not only have a political message, but is also art in its own right.
In my town, Maribor in Slovenia, many thousands of workers lost their jobs in the past few years. This are unfortunate and sad facts. It is not easy to find new hope and be optimistic again because the re-structuring of economy has been simply too slow.
An internationally famous festival called Lent (http://lent.slovenija.net) is held in Maribor every year from the 21st of June till 6th of July. This year, its leading concept is CATCH THE OF RYTHM OF THE EARTH. Your performance signifies even more than that. Seeing a programe about your performance in London was to me a suitable introduction to this year's festival and it falls beautifully into the context of performances, and also dreams and wishes, of the Lent festival. It is a shame you cannot be here to perform!
Perhaps the organisers of the Lent festival could get in touch with you and arrange for you to perform at the next year's festival in Maribor, and/or somewhere else in Slovenia? It would be wonderful to have you here, and see you perform live in front of a few thousand visitors of the festival.
